- Background - I grew up around sports but was always intimidated by the sport of weightlifting. I tried weights in high school and at various gyms but always felt uncomfortable because I never knew what the heck I was doing. So I just settled for dancing, synchronized swimming and running on the treadmill. CrossFit has taught me what I have been looking for all these years.....strength, power and the confidence to be the best athlete I can. I turned 40 this year and I am in the best shape of my entire life. I am enamored by women and men alike who walk in this gym and say they can't do what I do and after a little time, commitment and dedication they can now say they too are in the best shape of their life! All of the members here at CF Pride honor me with the opportunity to coach them into the athlete they want to be.
- How long have you been doing CF and why did I choose CrossFit? I have been doing CrossFit for over 4 years. I chose CrossFit because of the constant challenge it shows us everyday. It's truly humbling and no matter how strong, fast or powerful you get, CrossFit always leaves room for improvement. The team environment, the community/family feeling it provides in a fitness atmosphere is truly inspiring and keeps us coming back for more everyday!

- Background - As a kid i grew doing competition dance. I did gymnastics, tap, jazz, you name I did it! As soon as I was of age to sign up for as a member of good ol' 24Hour Fitness that was my thing. I spent numerous hours and had different groups of people that I worked out with. Not the typical treadmill girl, I did par-take in those but liked lifting weights more. Later I was asked to go try "CrossFit" and of all places in an airport hanger. I was a little nervous and super excited. Did a workout and it was CF+Mel=LOVE. And I keep coming back for more!
- How long have you been doing CF and why did I choose CrossFit? I have been do Crossfit since April 2009. I attended a Level 1 CrossFit Certification in Oct. 2009 and then a few months later the CrossFit Movement and Mobility Cert. I have been coaching since and can surely say that I as a coach have grown with CrossFit Pride and the Pride family members. I love CrossFit, the good, the bad and the ugly (it can get really ugly) but it always turns out good in the end! Doing CrossFit to me is about pushing yourself to do things you could not even imagine possible, and knowing that if u want to you can!
